德国柏林自由大学物理学博士后招收职位
We are seeking applications for a postdoctoral researcher position (payment according to german E13 TV-L FU), limited until June 2016. The position is assigned to subproject 2 "Adsorbed magnetic molecules in high magnetic fields" (Prof. W. Kuch) of the research alliance "VEKMAG" (Universitaet Regensburg, Freie Universitaet Berlin, Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum). The aim of the alliance is the establishment of an ultra-high-vacuum-compatible vector magnet for element-and time-resolved FMR, EPR, spectroscopy and scattering experiments with synchrotron radiation at BESSY II in Berlin. It will allow a great variety of experiments in high magnetic fields and in a wide range of temperatures.
The successful candidate is expected to coordinate the integration and implementation of an ultra-high vacuum deposition chamber into the vector magnet. The work will be performed in close collaboration with the project partners. The tasks include also conducting experiments at adsorbed magnetic molecules, establishing the method of element-resolved electron resonance spectroscopy at mono-molecular films and, towards the end of the funding period, also the coordination of collaboration with partner groups and potential external users. Regular working place will be both the Department of Physics at the Freie Universitaet in Berlin-Dahlem as well as the synchrotron light source BESSY II in Berlin-Adlershof.
The position allows for scientific qualification in the field of molecular spintronics research with innovative synchrotron radiation instrumentation. Existing x-ray spectroscopy equipment can be used.
A PhD in physics or disciplines related to the project is required for application. The ideal candidate has a strong background in one or more of the following: Set-up of ultrahigh vacuum chambers, surface physics, ferromagnetic resonance, X-ray spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation, investigations of adsorbate systems.
The Freie Universitaet is an equal opportunity employer. Women are encouraged to apply. Applicants with a disability are given preference in case of equal qualification.
Applications must include the completed downloadable application form ( http://www.physik.fu-berlin.de/~ag-kuch/positions/applicationform.doc ), a CV, short abstract of PhD thesis, list of publications, as well as names and addresses (postal and e-mail) of two or three persons willing to provide letters of reference. Only complete applications will be considererd. |
