Postdoctoral Research Associate

Super-resolution imaging method development and application

We are seeking to appoint a Post-Doctoral research assistant with experience in advanced microscopy methods who will develop revolutionary non-linear super resolution methods using structured illumination that further extend the current limits and apply them to biological specimens.

Applicants should possess a PhD in a physical science or related aspect of biological sciences. They will be expected to have experience in fluorescence microscopy and its application to biology.

This full–time post is funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and will be based in Department Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford, while working closely with colleagues at the Wolfson Imaging Centre Oxford in the Weatherall Institute for Molecular Medicine (WIMM) and the Nanoscopy Oxford initiative (NanO, www.nanoscopyoxford.com).

This position is graded on the University’s grade 7 scale, for which the salary range is £29,541- £36,298 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills and will also be determined by the funding available.
