南丹麦大学招聘生物信息学博士后
Post-doctoral Fellowship in Bioinformatics (Protein/Proteome Analysis, Mass Spectrometry), job ID 13311
This position is available in the group of Associate Professor Frank Kjeldsen, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark. The position is for two years and to be filled by 15 May, 2013 or soon thereafter.
With the recently discovered application of a novel metal complex to phosphoproteomics, the successful applicant for this project will be responsible for development of software for comprehensive mass spectral interrogation of metal-derivatized phosphopeptides. This includes identification of multiple unknown fragment ions of metal-derivatized phosphopeptides and development of algorithms that can support database searching. The developed data processing software will be applied to phosphopeptide samples of biological relevance.
This project implies close collaboration and knowledge sharing between group members and collaborators. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and have an extensive knowledge of peptide fragmentation obtained with tandem mass spectrometry. Prior experience in proteome bioinformatics and designing procedures for processing and managing mass spectrometric data are prerequisites. The position is available to candidates with a PhD degree obtained within the last three years in computational sciences, bioinformatics or a related discipline. Applicants are expected to be highly motivated, reliable and interested in working in an interdisciplinary and international environment. Finally, a good command of English is a requirement.
Employment is dependent on final approval by the Villum Foundation who has provided the grant.
Application deadline is 26 April 2013 at 12 o’clock noon. |
