Our group is interested in epigenetic regulation of gene expression in Trypanosoma brucei. Using Solexa high-throughput sequencing technology and biochemical approaches we study how posttranslational histone modifications, histone variants and ncRNA interact to form chromatin structures that modulate transcription in T. brucei, see publication in Genes & Dev (2009) 23, 1063-1076. The successful applicant will work in the dynamic environment of the Research Center for Infectious Diseases. (http://www.imib-wuerzburg.de/imib/). Salaries will be based on TV-L 13 and funded for up to three years.
