This new 1 year EPSRC funded project will develop an entirely new method for rapid microbial detection and identification, exploiting unique properties of an affordable microfluidic material. The successful candidate will lead research into a new technology for low-cost, rapid and portable detection of a range of microbial targets. Alongside this innovative lab research, the post holder will be encouraged to become involved in commercialisation activities, by identifying patentable aspects, investigating possible commercial applications and engaging with industrial and clinical end users.
You will have:

A PhD in a relevant research area including subjects related to biomedical science, pharmaceutical science, biochemical engineering, microbiology or chemistry.

Experience of either performing laboratory assays, developing new laboratory methods, or studying microfluidic devices
