The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at The Pennsylvania State University is an integral part of one of the leading research universities in the nation and serves as a university center of excellence in Defense science and technologies, with a focus in naval missions and related areas. The Information Science and Technology Division of The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is inviting applications for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow for the Information Science and Technology Division.
You will conduct cutting edge research in the areas of sensor fusion, intelligent control, networked systems, FPGA-based design, machine learning, and/or information assurance. You will also be encouraged to enhance your research credentials through publications, to guide graduate and undergraduate students, and to progress to research faculty positions in the Division by participating in collaborative grant proposal writing activities. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Mathematics. Candidates who are within three to six months of completing a doctoral degree or have completed their degree within the past five years are encouraged to apply. PhD level research is preferred. Experience in one or more of the following is required: Sensor networks; sensor fusion; intelligent control; distributed information systems; information assurance; cyber security; autonomous systems; dynamic control; embedded computer systems; and FPGA-based design. You must be committed to working in a diverse workforce, and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply. This is a fixed-term renewable appointment.
