Postdoctoral position in Metabolic Engineering
to support their research within the innovation alliance ZeroCarb. This project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) focuses on the conversion of industrial waste streams to functional biomass and valuable products.
Job description • Design, synthesis and implementation of heterologous metabolic pathways in yeast • Physiological characterization of engineered strains • Optimization of yeast for the process-specific growth conditions • Publication and presentation of research results
Your profile Successful candidates should hold a PhD in metabolic engineering / molecular biology / biotechnology or microbiology. The position requires a strong background in molecular biology techniques, metabolic engineering and physiological characterization of yeast. Skills in the development and use of chemically and enzymatically analytical methods are highly desirable.
