job description
A two-year postdoctoral position is available at the Nanochemistry Department of the Italian Institute of Technology. The aim of this research theme is to fabricate and test solar cells with active films based on colloidal nanocrystals of semiconductors. Enhancement in the photovoltaic conversion efficiency will be achieved by tailoring the electronic properties of the nanostructures and their energy barriers. A successful candidate will be able to work side-by-side with chemists and his/her main tasks will be to develop new assembly strategies for preparing nanocrystal films, to optimize post-deposition treatments on such films and finally to fabricate and test devices. The candidate must have a strong background in photovoltaics physics and engineering, with emphasis on solar cell fabrication and characterization. Previous expertise on topics related with nanocrystals is welcomed but is not mandatory.
