The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Pediatrics, University of California San Diego, is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to conduct research on innate/adaptive immune responses during HIV infection in brain and role of related host factors in encephalitis, neuroAIDS and related neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases.
Highly motivated and talented PhD graduates are welcome to apply for this Post-Doctoral position. Candidates with strong background, independence and past achievements in neurovirology, neuroimmunology, neuropathology and experience in immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, FACS analysis, molecular cloning, cellular biology, brain cell culture (primary cells and cell lines), are particularly encouraged and desired for this position. Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English are required. Candidate must have good time management skills with the ability to design, execute and write up experimental work independently. Ideal candidate is expected to be a true team player and willing to participate in manuscript and grant writing.
