A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the role of microRNA in pain. An integrated approach combining molecular and in vivo techniques will be pursued aimed at advancing both basic research and novel therapeutic strategies to better understand and treat pain. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or a related field. Candidates must have experience in standard molecular/cellular biological techniques including DNA and RNA isolation, real-time PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis and in protein techniques including Western blotting, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitations, and tissue culture. Experience working with rodent models is desirable. Successful applicants are expected to work independently and to be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
