Postdoctoral Research Assistant
Department of Meteorology
This appointment is full-time, fixed-term for approximately 35 months Grade 6 – £27,428 to £35,788 per annum
We require a motivated and talented Scientist to perform policy-relevant research on the climate impact of emissions of short-lived species contributing to a collaborative project funded by the European Union.
The research is part of the ECLIPSE project which aims to develop sound scientific advice on measures to mitigate climate change and improve air quality. The Researcher will perform radiative transfer calculations and develop climate metrics to characterise the importance of short-lived emissions, collaborating with project partners.
You will have:
• a PhD (or equivalent experience) in Atmospheric Science or a related quantitative Physical Science • skills in running and modifying computer models, and analysing their output • the ability to work as a team member of a wide European consortium • good written and oral communication skills
