Postdoctoral Research Associate Bioinformatics of the Human Microbiome University of Glasgow – School of Engineering

Salary: Grade 7 £31,798 – £35,788 per annum
This is an opportunity to be involved in an innovative project developing a bioinformatics pipeline for the analysis of sequence data from human associated microbial communities. The project is part of a major UK based Technology Strategies Board funded academia-industry collaboration headed by Unilever. The successful applicant will develop highly marketable skills in the analysis of microbial metagenomics data that will have the potential to lead to an exciting career in academia or industry.
Experience in software programming is essential as is a PhD or equivalent research experience in an industrial setting. Prior knowledge of bioinformatics or sequence analysis would be an advantage, as would skills in machine learning, Bayesian statistics or software engineering.
