A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the Translational Neuropathology Research Laboratory. The postdoctoral fellow will study the role of TDP-43 protein in neurodegeneration by performing detailed molecular analysis of human and mouse brain tissue. The postdoctoral fellow has the opportunity to join a laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and to work closely with Dr. Edward Lee, Assistant Professor and principle investigator of the laboratory. Qualified candidates must hold a PhD or an MD/PhD with a strong record of scholarly activity and publications. Applicants must have expertise in one of more of the following: tissue biochemistry, molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and/or bioinformatics. The successful candidate will be familiar with RNA biology, neuroscience, and/or neurodegenerative diseases (particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal lobar degeneration).
