job description
A postdoctoral position is available to study the epigenetic mechanism involving histone demethylase in craniofacial development and cancers. We have recently identified a novel histone demethylase, PHF8, acting on H4K20me1and H3K9me1. PHF8 demethylates these two histone marks at TSS and positively regulatesa small percentage of its large set of direct target genes (Qi HH et al., Nature, 2010). The postdoctoral fellow will use biochemistry, cell biology approaches and mouse models to investigate the etiological connection between PHF8 and craniofacial developmental defects. In addition, we are also interested in the epigenetic regulation via histone demethylase in cancers. Highly motivated recent Ph.D. with experiences in mouse work, ES cells, and essential molecular biology are desirable. To apply, please send statement of research interest, CV and details of three referees to:
