Job Title: Post-doctoral position: Proteomics and Epigenetics in Stroke Job Number: 4010025 Date Posted: 10/03/2011 Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Job Description
Post-doctoral research fellow position available immediately to study epigenetic regulation of neuronal ischemic injury and its prevention. Current research aims to characterize protein complexes that mediate a recently discovered epigenetic mechanism that underlies endogenous neuroprotection against ischemic brain injury (Stapels et al., 2010, Science Signaling, 3(111):ra15).
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. degree with credentials in one of the following two disciplines: (1) Quantitative mass spectrometry, with a minimum of two years’ hands-on experience in mass spectrometer operation and MS data handling, preferably with experience in analyzing mammalian proteomes; or (2) Protein-protein and protein-DNA interaction, preferably with experience in studying protein biosynthesis in neuronal cells.
Applicants should email the CV, a brief research statement (one page maximum) and the contact information of 3 references to: azhou@msm.edu
Selected candidates will be contacted directly. No phone calls please.
